How to read this system
The Lenormand deck has 36 cards, and every face is something concrete: Rider, Clover, Ship, House, Tree. Unlike tarot, it does not deal much in symbolism or psychological layers — it is closer to plain description.
What matters is combination. A single card means something narrow; put two together and the meaning shifts. Ship plus House is moving home, or returning from far away. Ship plus Coffin is a journey that does not happen.
Ask the same thing on the same day and you always draw the same three cards. That is deliberate: redrawing until you like the answer is not divination.

How is Lenormand different from tarot?
Tarot has 78 cards, works through symbol and psychological state, and one card can be read on many levels. Lenormand has 36, each narrow and concrete, speaking through combination. For "what is my state of mind", tarot. For "will this specific thing happen", Lenormand.
Why three cards?
Three is the basic Lenormand spread, and it happens to make cause, course and direction. More than that means handling the distance between cards, which is how the large spreads are read — too much for a first reading.
If I draw a bad card, is that it?
There are no purely bad cards in Lenormand, only directions. Coffin means an ending — and sometimes an ending is exactly the thing you have been waiting for. The meaning goes back into the question you asked.
